It is with great sadness that in February next year, Father Mark O'Keeffe is to return to his home Diocese of Plymouth in England. The following is the letter that Bishop Denis has written to the Parish of Morrinsville.

My Brothers and Sisters in jesus Christ,

You will be surprised to learn that your Parish Priest, Father Mark O'Keefe, is to conclude his priestly ministry in this Diocese and return to his home Diocese of Plymouth in England in February next year. Bishop Mark O'Toole, the Bishop of Plymouth, and I have agreed that Father Mark return to his home Diocese. Like our own Diocese, the Diocese of Plymouth is in great need of priests and it is only right that Bishop O'Toole be able to use the gifts of priestly ministry that Father Mark has brought to us in recent times.

I know that you will be supporting Father Mark in the remaining time that he has with us. He has been an inspiration to us and has put his hand strongly to the plough in facing the challenges of the building of a new Church in Morrinsville and in putting in place the new Pastoral Plan for the Diocese.

I know that you join with me in expressing a deep gratitude to Father Mark for the wonderful things he has done during the short time that he has been with us. We will also offer him the support of our prayers and interest as he returns to the Diocese of Plymouth.
I take this opportunity of thanking you for the support that you have given Father Mark during his time with you and I assure you that I will appoint a priest who will serve you well as Father Mark has done.

God bless you,
Yours sincerely in Christ
