It was a fine and lovely day in Te Puna on Tuesday, 30 August, when we, the Clergy of Hamilton Diocese gathered for a Pilgrimage of Mercy at St Joseph’s Church. Aside from having been blessed with fine weather, a very moving Liturgy was held with a celebration of the sacrament of Reconciliation. A Mass was then celebrated with Fr David Gledhill as presider and Bishop Steve as homilist. This was followed by a luncheon to celebrate Fr David Gledhill’s 50 years as a Marist priest.

We, as a parish, will have our Pilgrimage to the same Church on 29 October (Saturday). There will also be an opening liturgy, celebration of the sacrament of Reconciliation, Mass and a picnic on the church grounds. The Parish Council is organising the transportation. For those who are interested, you may contact Peter Farrelly 889 4483 (Morrinsville), Maggie Gribble 862 8633 (Paeroa), Megan Paul 884 8925 (Te Aroha).

Just a reminder that the first session for the RCIA 2016-17 (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) will be on Wednesday, 7 September at 7:00pm at the Parish Centre in Morrinsville. Past RCIA participants are invited to attend this first session to welcome and greet our inquirers. Please pray for our participants and the RCIA Team. Social Justice Week will be from 11-17 September, focusing on migration . (THEME: We All Have a Migration Story). Lastly, we greet all the fathers in our parishes a Happy Father’s Day. May God our Father continue to bless and guide you, grant you strength in mind, body and spirit and a heart like his.
