I thank those who participated in our Days of Prayer and our Pilgrimage to Te Puna. It was a busy week, but spiritually enriching. I thank the Social Justice Group and the Parish pastoral Council for helping organise these events. May we continue to celebrate God’s mercy in our lives by being merciful to our brothers and sisters in need.

The Masses on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (1-3 Nov) will be at 5.30pm. After the Mass, we will have the Blessing at the cemetery. Please bring a bottle of water which will be blessed at the cemetery, which you can then use to bless the graves of your departed loved ones.

“Visit the prisoners” is one of the Corporal Works of Mercy. Pope Francis has declared 5-6 November (next Sunday) as a Day of Jubilee for Prisoners. Let us pray for prisoners that they may come to know God’s love, mercy and forgiveness. We also pray for prison chaplains and all those who minister to those in prison.

Our prayerful sympathy to the families of Elizabeth “Beth” Wright and Leslie “Les” Steiner. A funeral service was held for Beth in Morrinsville on Tuesday, 25 October, and for Les in Te Aroha on Friday 28 October. May the Lord grant them eternal rest. Amen.

I’d like to invite you to our Pre-Christmas Socialization for this year which will be hosted in Morrinsville on Sunday, 11 December. It will be a potluck lunch in the school grounds after the 11am Mass. The Youth Group in Morrinsville will prepare the Programme—some games and entertainment—and surprises! Hope to see you there!

Please note that beginning next Saturday 5 November, Mass in Paeroa will be at 7pm
