Confirmation and First Holy Communion
Congratulations to the children who received Confirmation and had their First Holy Communion last Sunday in Morrinsville. The ceremony and the feast afterwards went well. Thanks to Dolores Maisey, Emalene Cull, Megan Paul and Wendy Vollebregt for running the Sacramental Programme in our Parishes. Also, thanks to all the people who helped make the occasion meaningful, especially for the children.

Day of Prayer For Refugees and Migrants
The New Zealand Catholic Bishops' Conference have designated 21 June as Day of Prayer for Refugees and Migrants, the closest Sunday to World Refugee Day. We pray today especially for the huge numbers of people from Africa and the Middle East fleeing violence and poverty across the Mediterranean, and for the refugees in Asia and Australian waters who have been turned away or diverted to offshore detention centres where assaults have occurred.

Bishop Steve has issued a letter with the Promulgation Document (Final Draft) for the Hamilton Diocese Strategic Plan “Who is my Neighbor?”. The document is now being considered by the Parish Pastoral Council for any feedback which will be submitted to Mons. Trevor Murray by the 30th of June. A copy of the letter and the document will be posted on the bulletin boards of the parishes.

Clergy School
I will be attending the Annual Clergy School from 29 June-3 July in Rotorua. Some parishioners will be leading the Liturgy of the Word with Communion for these days.
