Sunday 20th March 2016- Palm Sunday

posted Mar 19, 2016, 4:05 PM by Parishes of The Holy Family
Today we commemorate the Lord’s entrance to Jerusalem. And on this Palm Sunday, we ourselves enter into the most solemn week of the Church’s liturgical year. This Week leads us to focus and reflect on the mysteries of our Redemption: the suffering, death and resurrection of the Lord. May we take part in the liturgies of Holy Week, especially in the Paschal Triduum- Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil/Easter Sunday. May we all have a meaningful and prayerful observance of Holy Week.

Sacraments of Initiation on Easter Vigil
We are happy to announce to you that our RCIA catechumen and candidates will be initiated and received into the Church respectively, on Easter Vigil, 26th March at 8.00pm. Let us pray for them and show our support for these soon-to-be members of our community of faith on Easter Vigil. We thank the Lord for calling them to a life of faith and mission.

The Chrism Mass- is the celebration of the Eucharist in which the bishop blesses the Oil of the Sick and Oil of Catechumens and consecrates the Chrism. It is also during the Chrism Mass that priests renew their priestly vows before the bishop. It will be held on Holy Tuesday, 22nd March at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Hamilton at 6.00pm. All welcome.

The new movie FRANCISCO is coming to NZ Cinemas from Thursday 24 March. It's the true story of Jorge Bergoglio, the boy from the streets of Buenos Aires who became Pope Francis, the Holy Father. This can be seen at the Lido cinema in Hamilton
