MASS FOR CONSECRATED LIFE
There will be a Mass for Consecrated Life at the Cathedral in Hamilton at 10:30am on Sunday, 20th September 2015. This is an opportunity for us to thank God for the work of the Religious of the Diocese, and to pray for vocations to the consecrated life.

SOCIAL JUSTICE GROUP
I believe that the formation of a combined Social Justice Group in our Parishes has timed well with this year‘s Social Justice Week. The formation of a Social Justice Group has been the result of the Euthanasia workshop held in Rotorua. The role of the group will be very important in the life of the parish community – discussing political, social and moral issues and concerns in the community and society at large, making parishioners aware of and well-informed about them and suggesting concrete steps on how to respond to them in our capacity. I have appointed Dave Coloquhoun as Chairman of the group.

SOCIAL JUSTICE WEEK: 13- 19 September
This year for Social Justice Week, Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand has produced a short documentary - 'Kiwi Families: It's Our Story' - featuring four community groups across Aotearoa New Zealand and the families they walk with. The documentary captures a glimpse of what it is like for struggling families in New Zealand today and to hear stories of hope from whānau and communities who are responding. The documentary and accompanying guide can be found online at www.caritas.org.nz.

Blessings,
Fr. JeLo
